Last year on January 5th, 2017 I started my journey to wellness with the DDP Yoga program. I was not sure how things would go at first, I had tried the program once before and gave up because I thought it was too hard (rather than admit that I was not committed to improving myself in some meaningful way). However, I am proud to say that I have stuck with my pursuit of wellness ( and DDPY) through my crazy life of business travel for presentations, watching playoff football games and the daily curve balls life through at me. One of my goals for last year was to get back into shape and improve my overall health. The DDP Yoga (or DDPY) program did not just improve my health, I can honestly say it changed my life.
Over the past year I have traveled quite a lot, as in over 25 presentations to 11 different states, which posed a lot challenges to my attempts to work out regularly. I found it difficult to as a “Road Warrior” to work out in hotel gyms, go for walks, or any other forms of excercise. I looked at several programs last year, but gave up due to my travel schedule and lack of willpower.
They say that the proof is in the pudding, so here you go:
When I started DDPY on January 5, 2017 I was at 189 lbs. with a 39 inch waist. Now I realize that my transformation is not radical ( to some it may not seem like very much). The reduction in weight is really just the tip of the iceberg for me. After a couple of months I started realizing a few benefits, like my IT Bands not hurting everyday and less afternoon brain fog! The hardest part for me was finding time to keep things up when on the road for presentations and covering trade shows.
As of January 5th I am at 174 lbs. with a 34.75 inch wait and feel better than I did when I was 35 back in 2008. Now I am no where near a perfect human specimen (yet), but I am on a more healthy path than in many of my past years. The DDPY program has helped me really focus on two of my five lifestyle pillars, which are family, meditation, exercise, chiropractic and daily diet. The DDPY program helped me in two ways. First the exercise part by increasing my flexibility and my toning my body. Second, showing me how to eat better and adjust my diet when on the road and at home.
The DDPY Program and DDPY Now app provide users with a personal guide and resource. The app offers users several features:
1 – Custom Program: Users progress in the DDPY App and follow predetermined programs or builder there own through three intensity levels (Ex. Beginner, Intermediate, and Extreme).
2 – Workouts: Users can watch classic and current DDPY workouts with DDP and a few certified trainers from a mobile device and follow along.
3 – Tracking: Users progress in the program, logs your stats, and builds points for prizes. I must admit that taking the before photos and measurements was quite an eye opening experience!
4 – Nutrition – Provides videos on nutrition, lessons on healthy cooking, and motivational messages.
5 – User Guide – A copy of the DDPY Yoga Guide, the info about the program and photos of the poses.
If you are looking to make a positive change in your life and could use a little help with motivation then consider trying out DDPY for a new program. I can honestly say that DDPY has helped me not just find wellness, but maintain it through life ups and downs. It is like DDP says… “Whether you say You Can or You Cannot… Your Right”!!!!
